Burnett Gmail allows for + Addressing. This means you can instantly create an unlimited number of "disposable" e-mail addresses associated with your account.
Here is how it works. Lets say you want to subscribe to the NAR e-newsletter. You can enter your email address like this:
bwentz+newsletters@burnettreal... (I left the "ty.net" off so I don't get spammed!)
Then you can set up a filter from within Gmail to send everything that arrives to that e-mail to a label called Newsletters automatically. When you want to read them, just click the label. And if you ever decide that address had been some to spammers, you can change the filter to delete anything that comes to that address automatically. All while protecting your standard user@burnettrealty net account!
This could also be used to send yourself notes that you want to remember. Create a filter to send user+notes@burnett... to automatically save to a "Notes" label. Then just email yourself and your notes will be automatically stored. If you are in the Gmail interface, you can even just type "notes" in the To: address and it will automatically send it to "user+notes@burnett... ". Pretty cool, eh?
